Your First Visit

What to Expect as a New Patient

Your first visit starts with a conversation, not a treatment. We want to understand your situation before we recommend anything. Here's exactly how it works.

How It Works

Your First Visit, Step by Step

1

Schedule Your Free Consultation

Call us at 405-363-9712 or submit a callback request on our contact page. We'll reach out within one business day to confirm a time that works for you.

2

Arrive a Few Minutes Early

Coming in 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment gives you time to complete a brief intake form and get settled before your consultation begins.

3

Consultation with Your Doctor

You'll sit down with one of our doctors for about 15 minutes. They'll listen to your history, ask questions about your symptoms, and review any imaging you've brought. The goal is to understand your situation well enough to give you an honest assessment.

4

Clinical Assessment

Your doctor will perform a brief physical assessment relevant to your reported concern. They may also review MRI, X-ray, or CT imaging if you have it.

5

Treatment Recommendation

If you're a good candidate for spinal decompression, laser therapy, or a combination of both, your doctor will explain the recommended plan including session count, frequency, and what to expect. If you're not a candidate, they'll tell you that too and point you in a better direction.

6

Your First Treatment (If You're Ready)

Many patients choose to begin treatment the same day after their consultation. You are never pressured to start immediately. You can take time to ask more questions, think it over, or discuss it with family before scheduling your first treatment session.

What to Bring

  • Any MRI, X-ray, or CT images or reports you have
  • A list of your current medications
  • Your insurance card (we'll verify your coverage)
  • A general timeline of when your problem started and what you've tried so far

You don't need a referral and you don't need to have a formal diagnosis yet. Bring what you have and we'll work from there.

What to Wear

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. If you're having a decompression treatment the same day, you'll want to be able to move freely. You stay fully clothed during treatment.

How Long Will It Take?

The free consultation typically runs 15 to 30 minutes. If you proceed to a treatment the same day, plan for about 60 to 90 minutes total for your first visit. Follow-up sessions are generally 30 to 45 minutes.

Common Questions

First-Visit Questions, Answered

No referral is required. You can contact us directly to schedule a consultation. If you're currently seeing a physician for the same problem, it's worth letting them know you're exploring non-surgical options.

It depends on the type of surgery. Spinal fusion is generally a contraindication for spinal decompression therapy. Patients who have had a discectomy or microdiscectomy may still qualify depending on timing and current condition. We will review this at your consultation and give you a clear answer.

We tell you directly and, where we can, point you toward a more appropriate type of provider. We don't put patients in treatment that isn't appropriate for their condition.

Yes. There's no charge for the initial consultation and no obligation to proceed with treatment. We want you to have enough information to make a good decision.

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours' notice may result in a fee. Call us at 405-363-9712 as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment.
